Over 1000 people attended the Wawan Classic 2017 for an action-packed day including competitions for various physique categories, the Wawan MMA tournament, WBFF show and PCA Pro show.
The event, which was held at the Crowne Plaza Kuwait on September 29, attracted local, regional and international contestants who vied for the overall $50,000 prize.
“The Wawan team worked tirelessly ahead of the event to make sure it would be a success. We would like to thank everyone who helped organize, participated and attended the Wawan Classic 2017,” said Wawan founder, Adel Wawan.
The Wawan Federation awarded contestants a combined total of $250,000 in prize money which was distributed across all categories. “The results were mixed across all categories, with regional and international contestants taking home prizes. We presented an event which makes Kuwait and all Arab countries proud,” added Mr. Wawan.
The event included a vending area where fans and fitness enthusiasts sampled supplements from renowned brands including Wawan Nutrition, Reflex Nutrition, USN and RC Signature Supplements.
“The competition was very successful with a big audience, massive prizes and the launch of three new Wawan products. Everyone was very pleased with the event and we’re positive it will grow with every year,” said Wawan Director, Hamad Bujjandal.
“Wawan includes a lot more than our nutrition brand, we also have the Wawan MMA events and state-of-the-art Wawan Gyms which we intend to open across the GCC,” he continued.
Speaking at the event, PCA Pro athlete Peter Molnar stated that the competition has grown since the previous year.”The Middle East has some of the best athletes in the world for the amateur category who I believe will soon make it to pro,” said Mr. Molnar.

Following the success of the Wawan Classic 2017, the founder of Wawan Nutrition, Adel Wawan has been appointed to preside over all kickboxing events across the Middle East.
Speaking about the achievement, Mr. Wawan stated that he aims to develop Kuwait in the field of professional sports on an international level. “It makes me proud to raise the name of my country, Kuwait, in international forums. I promise to continue to develop the field in the region and turn Kuwait into a hub for professional athletes and sporting events,” he said.
In his quest to provide athletes and fitness enthusiasts with the best facilities, Mr. Wawan has opened the well-equipped ‘Wawan Gym’ in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
The Wawan group has also rolled out plans to create a state of the art training facility, known as the ‘Wawan MMA Academy,’ in the Middle East in the near future.
